Village Millennium Map

Part of The West Sussex Millennium Parish Maps Project, the map was prepared by a team of a dozen artists to depict Fernhurst village and its environs in the year 2000.

It is printed in full colour on high-quality paper of size 59 cm x 42 cm (23½ x16½ inches). The poster is printed double-sided, with an informative two-colour 'history sheet' on the reverse side; this can be purchased separately, so that both the map and its accompanying text can be viewed when displayed side by side.

Click here to read the text from the 'history sheet' printed on the reverse of the map.

Work on the map led to the setting up of an independent Fernhurst Art Group.

Thanks to our sponsors, including The Millennium Commission and Help The Aged, copies of the map were distributed free to schoolchildren and senior citizens in the Fernhurst village.

A list of many parish maps in UK is maintained by Common Ground.
